Features

Atlas contains both a n-tier rich client and web-based software package designed to simplify travel administration for U.N. related organizations. Atlas provides management and administrative benefits during all stages of the travel process, including support for travel plans, fare quote, ticket requests, approval, travel authorizations, payment requests, claims, and management reporting. Atlas is based on a document life cycle metaphor and is centered on the Travel Document, which is manipulated using operations already familiar to most users. In addition, the system features automatic routing of Travel Documents through a built-in Inbox, again making use of a metaphor from electronic mail which is familiar to most users.

Automated Workflow

Through its automatic document routing feature, Atlas eliminates the wasted time and effort associated with forwarding a paper travel request document from person to person through the approval and claims process. Instead, Atlas instantly forwards the electronic travel document to the inbox of the next person who needs to process it. Atlas has built-in logic that allows it to determine the next person to whom a document should be routed. Workflow is automated because each user need only check his or her inbox to determine which travel documents require action.

Focus on control and security of information

Support for travel policies can be enforced by the system. Use of standard organization codes to denote accounting codes, project codes, travel types, ticket classes, modes of travel, etc. can also be enforced by the system. Information about travel patterns and history is readily available. Access to travel documents is strictly controlled through a built in security mechanism. Administrators may configure the system to be as secure or as open as necessary. Important actions are logged with identification of the user and timestamp of the action.

Regular updates of key information

DSA and MSA information and exchange rates are updated monthly from data file such as those provided by the ICSC.

Access for remote users

Atlas can be accessed over the Internet or an intranet, thus providing worldwide support.

Easy interfaces to your existing systems

Atlas imports data from other corporate information systems, such as accounting, payroll, and personnel, and it exports data to be used for such things as processing of advance payments and claims.

Ease of use

The Atlas user interface is based on Windows standards that are familiar to users of common office applications such as word processors or spreadsheets.

Travel agents integrated into the approval process

Travel Agency interaction is standardized and built into the process allowing real time information exchange.

Standard Reports

Atlas provides standard reports for the most common management and control needs and additional standard reports can be built in to the system as necessary. Since Atlas data is stored in a standard relational database, ad-hoc reports are easily created as well. Standard reports include Document Statistics, Allowances, Exchange Rates, Planned Travel, Outstanding Claims and Advances, Policy Savings, Disbursement Sheets, Event Statistics, and Travel Type Statistics.

Minimal support requirements

Periodic updates of Atlas will be provided. Your IT support need do nothing more than provide a link to the latest version for your users.

Simplify your travel management.
